#TOPIC1 \11(ATA/ATAPI-6 Revision 1e) This command disables all SMART capabilities within the device including any and all timer and event count functions related exclusively to this feature. After receipt of this command the device shall disable all SMART operations. SMART data shall no longer be monitored or saved by the device. The state of SMART (either enabled or disabled) shall be preserved by the device across power cycles. After receipt of this command by the device, all other SMART commands (including SMART DISABLE OPERATIONS commands), with the exception of SMART ENABLE OPERATIONS, are disabled and invalid and shall be command aborted by the device. #TOPIC3 \11(ATA/ATAPI-6 Revision 1e) This command enables access to all SMART capabilities within the device. Prior to receipt of this command SMART data are neither monitored nor saved by the device. The state of SMART (either enabled or disabled) shall be preserved by the device across power cycles. Once enabled, the receipt of subsequent SMART ENABLE OPERATIONS commands shall not affect any SMART data or functions. #TOPIC4 \11(ATA/ATAPI-6 Revision 1e) This command enables and disables the optional attribute autosave feature of the device. Depending upon the implementation, this command may either allow the device, after some vendor specified event, to automatically save the device updated attribute values to non-volatile memory; or this cmd may cause the autosave feature to be disabled. The state of the attribute autosave feature (either enabled or disabled) shall be preserved by the device across power cycles. ### Disabling this feature does not preclude the device from saving SMART data to non-volatile memory during some other normal operation such as during a power-on or power-off sequence or during an error recovery sequence. During execution of the autosave routine the device shall not set BSY to one nor clear DRDY to zero. If the device receives a command from the host while executing the autosave routine the device shall respond to the host within two seconds. #TOPIC5 \11(ATA/ATAPI-6 Revision 1e) This command causes the device to immediately initiate the optional set of activities that collect SMART data in an off-line mode and then save this data to the device's non-volatile memory. Or execute a self-diagnostic test routine in either captive or off-line mode.
